Tabs and Tools Reference
This guide explains the primary DM workspace tabs and their tools.
It is designed as a practical reference you can keep open during prep or live play.

Location Maps (Campaign Maps)
Purpose:
- world, region, town, and travel planning maps
- player-facing strategic maps separate from tactical battle maps
Top toolbar tools:
- Add Map
- Select mode
- Add Pin mode
- Route mode
- New Route (visible while in route mode)
Map creation tools:
- map name and type
- image upload
- description
- shared with players toggle
- allow player pins toggle
- grid controls: mode, size, offsets, opacity, color
Map viewer tools:
- zoom controls: Fit, 100%, -, +
- grid toggle
- grid mode cycle (square/hex)
- grid settings popover
- delete map
Details drawer tools:
- pin label, type, and visibility (DM only/shared/revealed)
- pin notes
- reveal pin to players
- delete pin
- delete route (for grouped route stops)
- creator and timestamp metadata
Calendar
Purpose:
- track in-world time, events, and linked campaign sessions
Core tools:
- create calendar (name, starting year, hours/day, month count, weekday count)
- calendar settings (DM)
- month navigation (prev/next)
- jump to month/year
- day selection and day-level details panel
Day and event workflow:
- add/edit/delete calendar events
- support all-day and timed events
- support annual recurrence
- support multi-day events
- visibility control (DM-only vs shared)
Session-link tools:
- link sessions to specific in-world dates
- unlink sessions
- set linked session as campaign start
- set linked session as current date
Summary tools:
- collapse/expand summary panel
- view current date anchor and campaign start anchor
- review month/weekday definitions and irregular-year rule summary
Battle Maps
Purpose:
- tactical encounter map with tokens, overlays, initiative drawer, and measurement/route sharing

Initiative
Purpose:
- run encounter turn order and apply combat updates
Turn and round tools:
- Next Round
- Reset to Round 1
- Previous Turn
- Next Turn
- Activity Log
Bulk tools:
- bulk damage/healing
- save-for-half toggle
- bulk effect apply with duration
- undo last bulk action
Table and combat controls:
- inline edit for init, HP, AC, effects, notes
- Sort by Initiative
- Clear All
- Start Combat
- End Combat
Add-to-initiative tools:
- Add PC
- Add All Active PCs
- Add NPC/Monster (optional same-initiative mode)
- Random Encounter builder (NPC selection, optional PCs, map upload)
Rooms
Purpose:
- organize campaign locations and room-level encounter context
Key tools:
- room search
- add building/location
- room list management per building
- Start Room Initiative flow from room cards
NPCs and Monsters
Purpose:
- maintain creature library for encounters
Key tools:
- search and pagination
- show-all-systems toggle
- add NPC/Monster form (stats, type, image, notes, grid footprint)
- edit NPC/Monster form
- ruleset tagging (preset systems + custom tags)
- JSON bestiary import/export
PCs
Purpose:
- maintain player character records used in initiative and sessions
Key tools:
- add PC form (name, class, race, HP, AC, init bonus, age/birth fields, image, notes)
- edit PC form
- replacement history viewer
- PC list and mobile card views
Notes
Purpose:
- campaign-level notes and session prep notes
Key tools:
- notes search
- add note form
- edit and save note content
- notes pagination and filtered results view
Sessions
Purpose:
- schedule, run, and review campaign sessions
Session management tools:
- New Session form
- edit existing sessions
- session status (planned/active/completed/cancelled)
- start/end times and notes
Calendar-link tools inside session form:
- link in-world start date and optional end date
- clear in-world link
- set as campaign start session
- advance campaign date on completion
Operations and analytics:
- sessions search and page-size controls
- session analytics panel and timeline
- attendance editor and save attendance workflow
Rulesets
Rulesets are used in two places:
Campaign-level rulesets:
- selected when creating/editing a campaign
- define the campaign's active game systems context
NPC-level rulesets:
- each NPC/monster can be tagged with one or more systems
- include built-in systems plus custom ruleset tags
- used with filters and show-all-systems behavior
Practical guidance:
- keep campaign rulesets tight to your actual table systems
- tag NPCs accurately so filtering stays useful during prep
Dice Roller (Floating Panel)
Purpose:
- quick in-session rolls without leaving current tab
Dice selection tools:
- add dice by left click (d4, d6, d8, d10, d%, d12, d20)
- remove dice by right click on die button
- quick roll shortcuts (1d20, 2d6, 1d8, d%)
Roll modifiers and privacy:
- flat modifier input
- apply modifier per die toggle
- secret roll toggle (DM only)
Customization and output:
- color picker and dice theme selector
- roll/clear actions
- result total and breakdown
- history list and clear-history action

Prep workflow:
- Set campaign rulesets.
- Build NPC and PC libraries.
- Create sessions and calendar links.
- Build campaign/location maps and place reference pins.
- Prepare battle maps and save encounter presets.
Live-play workflow:
- Open Sessions and set active context.
- Use Initiative for turn control.
- Use Battle Maps for tactical state.
- Use Dice panel for rolls and quick history.
- Use Notes for rulings, clues, and recap capture.
